Saint Etienne Musée d'Art Moderne is pleased to present Parole (Words), a dynamic on - line archive of words referring to cities. Parole is a web site that maps existing and new words about cities – such as “datatown”, “accidental city”, “ocean city”, “ottopia” and “magnet city”. Parole has been created for the 7th Architecture Biennale of Venice (2000), but its material was gathered since 1995. The site is open to transformation and manipulation by any user. Its structure is constantly re-mapped by visitors of the site, just like a city is. Actually it contains more than 900 words.
